Cancellation or Withdrawal from a workshop

We understand that things change. We would like to be as flexible as possible, so should you need to cancel we will offer up the resale of your ticket. In the event that it sells, we will gladly refund your ticket minus a 5% handling fee. Unfortunately we are unable to refund your ticket if it does not resell. Thank you so much for understanding.​
 

Domestic flights that form part of your itinerary, permits and any accommodation that requires pre-payment must be paid for in full at the time of deposit and are non-refundable.


The above mentioned cancellation fees are in addition to any that may be charged by travel agents, airlines, hotels or other tour operators.

No refunds will apply should you leave the workshop for any reason.

Cancellation of the Trip

Should a workshop be cancelled due to minimum numbers not being met, unforeseen circumstances or a public health order such as COVID-19 you will be offered a full refund or a replacement travel option.

We reserve the right to cancel a trip and/or review the itinerary at any stage prior, or during the trip, for situations not within our control.

Payment of Fees

Workshop fees are listed with the details on the website. Full payment is required at the time of enrolment to secure your place.

Fees are exclusive of GST and tax receipts will be provided on receipt of payment.

By paying the deposit you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth on this website. Full payment is due no later than 6 weeks prior to the departure date, unless otherwise specified. If the booking is made within 6 weeks of the trip departing, full payment is required at the time of booking. Should you not make your final payment by this deadline, we reserve the right to cancel your place. Regular cancellation fees will apply. 

Responsibility

We travel to locations where standards of accommodation, transport, safety, hygiene, telecommunications, medical facilities and general infrastructure can vary from place to place. This may be unfamiliar to your usual living arrangements. Please take this into account at the time of booking and understand the levels of personal risk, which the applicant agrees to fully assume.

The applicant understands that during the course of the trip, certain events may occur, including, but not limited to, accident or illness in remote places without medical facilities, political instability and the forces of nature. The applicant agrees to assume all risks associated with the journey to the maximum extent permitted by law. Any medical evacuation expenses incurred due to injury or illness will be the responsibility of the participant.

The applicant acknowledges that travel with us requires a degree of flexibility and understands that the trip’s route, accommodation and modes of transport are subject to change without prior notice due to local circumstances. Should we deem it advisable to amend an itinerary for any reason, it may do so by shortening, varying or re-routing any trip. These changes are binding and additional expenses will be charged to the applicant if the reason for any major alteration is outside our control.

While travelling with us the applicant agrees to accept the authority of the leader, or local operator at all times. The applicant is aware that travel within a group may involve compromise to accommodate the diverse desires and physical abilities of group members. The applicant understands that we reserves the right to decline, accept, or retain any person as a member of the group at any time.

The applicant acknowledges that we may contract with a network of companies, government agencies and individuals to assist in the running of our tours. To the best of our knowledge, these third parties are qualified to perform the duties they are contracted to perform. However we will not be held liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay or irregularity that may occur due to the behaviour of these third parties.

Trip Costs

These are based on ground costs and exchange rates at the time of booking. Whilst we will do our utmost to avoid any price increases we the right to amend our prices without notice, at any time up to and including the day of trip departure, in the event of significant exchange rate fluctuations, increases in fuel costs, local flight costs or increases in ground operator service fees. We will absorb up to the first AUD50 per person of any overall price increase from its ground operations and exchange rate fluctuations but reserve the right to pass any further increases onto the passenger.

Health

Our trips are designed for travellers of all ages, assuming you are fit and healthy. A pre-holiday health preparation and check-up is advised.

Photography

From time to time uploaded photos of participants and artwork may be used for promotional purposes such as press advertising, social media and website. These photos will never be sold and will be used exclusively by and for In The Field Artist Workshops. As a Condition of Enrolment your consent is implied. Should you not wish for us to take and use photos of your or your artwork please notify us in writing.

Conduct

It is expected attendees will respect fellow artists, artwork and property. Discrimination on the grounds of a person’s age, race sex, gender, sexuality, marital status, physical or intellectual disability, or religion will not be tolerated. Students deemed to be exhibiting inappropriate or disruptive behaviour may be removed.

Occupational Health & Safety

If you have an existing medical condition, allergy, dietary requirements or disability that may affect your participation in a class, please notify us at the time of enrolment.

Terms and Conditions

Contact information you supply will not be disclosed without your express consent, except where required by law. Any credit card information that you may provide is not retained.

We will from time-to-time send email to students and past students for the purpose of marketing. Should you not wish to receive please notify us that you wish to unsubscribe and you will be removed from the mailing list.

Insurance

We strongly recommend that workshop members have travel insurance and that the policy includes cover against personal accident, medical expenses, emergency repatriation and personal liability. We also recommend insurance coverage for cancellation to be taken at the same time as payment, as no exception to the cancellation provisions can be made. We also recommend provisions for curtailment, loss of luggage and personal effects.

In The Field is not responsible for any belongings of the passengers carried during any services rendered by its ground operators, such as transfers or tours.
